Business Practices
We believe that healthy, fresh food service and responsible business practices go hand-in-hand. Revolution Foods is a company that creates positive social impact while minimizing environmental impact. We strive to create a positive, equitable, safe, and enjoyable work environment for our team. The following business standards guide our operations:
Hiring and Workplace Practices
- All employees receive full health benefits and are paid above Alameda County living wage standards.
- We are a woman-owned business that shows a commitment to hiring a diverse work force. We begin our recruiting process in the school communities we serve.
Environmental Practices
- We recycle and compost virtually all of our kitchen waste.
- We use energy efficient insulated food storage units.
- Our education materials are produced on recycled paper using soy-based inks.
- We use recyclable packaging whenever possible.
- Our hot food containers are printed with soy-based inks.
Sourcing/Supply Chain
- We only partner with suppliers that adhere to our company quality criteria and who are committed to healthy, sustainable, environmentally friendly business practices.
Community Involvement
- We solicit feedback from our customers and often adjust our services to fit their needs.
- We create a holistic learning environment around our food service offerings that includes nutrition education for kids and families. We are developing online resources that teachers and families can use to learn more about health-related issues and to educate their communities.
- We educate customers about the value of fresh, organic and local food products. Through this practice, we are not only striving to create food system change; we are also contributing to local economic development in industries such as agriculture and food service that require human capital.
- As Revolution Foods grows, so will its ability to impact local economic development.
